If an actor gets too close to the river they could fall in and drown. They could also fall in and have a severe injury. This risk is potentially fatal.

We will make Sure the actors are aware that they should stay a few feet away from the river at all times, Make sure we are by a public area, with life rings just in case.
Yes
Public
The public will be freely walking around by the river at the point of recording, this could mean that the public could knock equiptment, or move wires which could obstruct actors.

We will put up little signs by the equipment so that the public do not touch it, We will also find a quiet area along the river to record, however still be near life rings for the river risk.
Yes
Cars
There are cars that drive along side the river where we could record, if an actor is not paying attention they could stumble into the road and get hit.

We will make sure that, if recording by the road, the actors are fully aware of the risk. This will minimise the chances of an accident occurring.

Chairs
Inside the media room there are various chairs which are spread across the room. These chairs could block or obstruct the actors whilst recording the music video causing a Major safety hazard.

We could move all of the chairs out of the media room before recording, making sure the chairs are in an area wher they will cause no obstruction to the actors and the students at the Worcester Sixth Form.
Yes
Tables
There are a few tables inside the media room which occupy most of the space available, this could cause a major disruption to the music video and obstruct the actors during the recording.
4

In order to reduce the risk of injury to our actors we need to remove all of the tables out of the media room to make more of the space available to use. We need to make sure the tables are out of the way for the other students and that if there are any tables left in the room the actors are aware.
Yes
Computers
In the room there are computers that cannot be moved temporarily during the recording.  The computers also have wires which go under the desks, this could cause an injury to the actors.

Make sure the wires under the desk are pushed/ tucked as far away from the acting space, this will reduce the risk of an actor falling over or causing an injury. If possible tape the wires to the bottom of the desk/ wall.  Make sure the actors are aware of the wires.
Yes
Projector
On the roof of the classroom there is a projector which is used to beam PowerPoint on to the whiteboard. This projector could fall on to one of the actors during the rehearsals causing a fatal injury

Make sure that the projector is secure on the roof before the rehearsal. Make sure that the actors are aware of this risk and try to prevent any risk of it falling.  Make sure that the projector has been safety checked.

Final Sketches: Digipak and Advert

This was the inside of the Digipak i wanted all three panels  to follow the same theme almost like it's on image covering the space. I'll use the three girls which will feature in the music video  on this page even though they aren't singers in the band.  I've done this to exaggerate the idea of a story and narrative.

With the inside cover i liked how in Katy Perry's digipak she featured a close up so therefore i've included this idea in my digipak. The back will feature a frame like it does on the cover and also will appear in the music video.  The Final advert is also found on this page and I've decided to stray from the typical artist and cd featuring on the advert and so therefore i'm only having the artist appearing as a silhouette. Again I'm using the narrative as the selling point rather than the 'name' of an artist.

Time Management: Print Production

I have noticed that i've been very disorganised with the print production aspect and the deadline is coming  in quick. So from today i'll  make a timeline and plan everything that i need to do before the deadline so then i'll be more organised and hopefully get it done in time.

Front Cover Sketches

Here i have came up with four possible designs for my front cover. I showed my friends and asked which on they felt was best suited. i briefly explained the concept of the music videos so they could pick the one which related to this.

They liked the last sketch as they felt it worked well with the Alice and wonderland theme with the drink me bottle however my concern with this was that the appearance would only appeal to the younger audience rather than the older ones. So therefore we felt that the best one to go for was the third idea with  the frames as it still fun but appeals to both audience and it's not too mature either.

Thought bubble

Thinking about the advert and digipak design i want to create something fresh and different i think i'll stray away from the typical artist and text and create something with more a of narrative as not many adverts do this but also linking with the music video creating this uniform and theme throughout. I will still keep the some of the typical conventions of an advert and digipak so then it's regconisable to the audience.

First sketch for Digipak advert

this was my first idea for the digipak advert. i wanted to include the narrative and something fun. The design was inspired by Lady Gaga digipak advert which i researched earlier. I Incorporated the Alice in wonderland theme as i wanted to make a link between the advert and the music video. I showed it to some of my friends to get feedback and they said they liked the concept and different ideas but thought there was too much dead space and the three different sections made it quite distracting.

Sketches and Ideas

Today I was thinking about different ideas and came up with a few quick sketches. I wanted to create something fun and flirty, but not over the top. i had a few ideas and will later expand them coming up with a few final ideas.

Thought Bubble

Thinking about everything and it's two weeks to the deadline i still think i should go with the 6 panel Digi pack as i do feel i can pull it of. I've talked the the models today and we will do some shoot this week and weekend. I need to get my final ideas and concepts together so it's all organised. for the CD advert i think i will do a full page spread  rather than a double. I also have to remember to keep the 'Alice in wonderland' Theme present to pull it off in the video.

Similar Artist CD Comparision

Although Tommy Sparks falls into the genre of pop I researched music artist that music has an extreme similarity to his music and the two bands that i discovered were the Hot Melts and  Filthy Dukes.
Here are there CD covers below.
  • Both feature bold colours but as if they have been toned down.
  • they have been computer generated and neither have the artist themselves on the cover
  • Again the White seems to be a key colour for text.
  • Both are quite simple however the Filthy Dukes cover may only just contain an owl but it is really detail and complex.
  • With the Hot melts cover text is the main focus point as it the CD cover consists mostly of text and the Filthy Dukes cover has the image having the majority of the space.
  • The Bands names are both found at the top of the CD
  • The Filthy Dukes cover has an animal theme running through it specifically focusing on birds as the Hot melts don't really have a theme there cover has more of a sense of quirkiness.
